I’m sure you’ve heard the stats:
#1 Fear is public speaking
#2 Fear is fear of death…
So most people would rather be in the casket than giving the eulogy.

Yet it is the thing that absolutely charges my batteries. I love the thrill of the stage, it reminds me of college when I did stand-up comedy in the coffee house on campus. I love sharing the information that I have accumulated. Watching the light bulb click for people when I can break down a tough concept into manageable ideas is so enriching.

But my absolute favorite reason that I love public speaking is that by teaching I learn so much.  I learn a lot by spending hours in research.  For me, I want to be prepared for any possible question that could be asked by the audience.  That’s not always possible but with that in mind I find it helps me stay focused.
